검은쌀쥐속(Melanomys)은 비단털쥐과 쌀쥐족에 속하는 설치류 속이다.[1] 남아메리카 북부 지역과 인근 중앙아메리카에 분포한다. 3종을 포함하고 있으며, 2종 로버스트검은쌀쥐와 주니가검은쌀쥐는 제한적으로 분포한다. 검은쌀쥐는 더 널리 분포하지만 복합종의 일종으로 추정된다.
