사이토글로빈(영어: cytoglobin)은 사람포유류유전자인 CYGB의 단백질 산물이다.[5]

사이토글로빈은 모든 조직에서 발현되며, 특히 해양 포유류에서 가장 많이 활용되는 글로빈 분자이다. 사이토글로빈은 2001년에 발견되었으며,[6] 2002년에 사이토글로빈으로 명명되었다.[7] 사이토글로빈은 저산소증으로부터 보호하는 역할을 하는 것으로 생각된다. 사이토글로빈의 예상되는 기능은 동맥혈에서 산소를 전달하는 것이다.[8]

기능[편집]

사이토글로빈은 조직을 통한 산소의 확산을 촉진하고 산화 질소 또는 활성 산소를 제거하거나 산화 스트레스 동안 보호 기능을 제공할 수 있는 어디에서나 발현되는 6배위 헤모글로빈이다.[5][9]

활용[편집]

CYGB 발현은 손상된 사람의 간 성상세포와 간문맥 근섬유아세포를 구별할 수 있는 특정 마커로 사용될 수 있다.[10]
