덤불개(Speothos venaticus)는 개과에 속하는 포유류의 일종으로 중앙아메리카와 남아메리카에서 발견된다.[1][2] 넓은 분포 지역에도 불구하고, 수리남과 가이아나, 페루를 제외한 다습한 지역에서는 아주 드물게 발견된다.[2][3] 피터 빌헬름 룬드(Peter Wilhelm Lund)가 브라질 동굴 화석을 통해 처음 기술했으며, 처음에는 멸종된 종으로 간주했다.[3] 덤불개속에 속하는 현존하는 유일종이며,[1] 유전학 분석 결과에 의하면 중앙아메리카에서 발견되는 갈기늑대와 가장 가까운 종이다.[4] 그러나 이 문제는 아직 논쟁중이며, 가장 가까운 종은 리카온일 수도 있다.[5] 국제 자연 보전 연맹(IUCN)이 취약근접종(NT, Near Threatened Species)으로 분류하고 있다.
