다른 뜻에 대해서는 휴거 (동음이의) 문서를 참조하십시오.휴거(携擧, rapture)는 기독교 종말론의 미래학적 해석의 사건으로, 그리스도가 세상에 다시 올 때 기독교인들이 공중에 함께 올라가 그분을 만난다는 것을 가리키는 말이다. 이 메시지는 데살로니가전서 4장 15~17절에 바울이 예수가 그의 성도들을 모이게 하려고 되돌아오신다는 것에 대하여 "주의 말씀"을 언급하고 있다.
- "... 그리스도 안에서 죽은 자들이 먼저 일어나고 그 뒤에 살아서 남아 있는 우리가 그들과 함께 구름들 속으로 채여 올라가 공중에서 주를 만나리라. 그리하여 우리가 항상 주와 함께 있으리라."
- "... and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
