프세우도피멜로두스과(Pseudopimelodidae)는 메기목에 속하는 조기어류과의 하나이다.^[1] "범블비메기류(bumblebee catfishes)", "난쟁이반점무늬메기류(dwarf marbled catfishes)" 등으로도 알려져 있다. 일부 종은 수족관에서 관상용으로 인기가 있다.^[2] 이전에는 붉은꼬리메기과에 속하는 아과로 분류했다.^[2] 프세우도피멜로두스과는 단계통군의 하나이다.^[3] 이전에는 프세우도멜로두스상과(Pseudopimelodoidea)를 시소르상과(Sisoroidea) + 로리카리아상과(Loricarioidea)의 자매군으로 분류했다.^[2]

분포[편집]

남아메리카의 민물에 제한적으로 분포하며,^[2] 콜롬비아의 아트라토 강에서부터 아르헨티나 라플라타강까지 지역에서 발견된다.^[3]
