동자개과(Bagridae)는 메기목에 속하는 조기어류과의 하나이다.[1] 아프리카 그리고 일본부터 보르네오섬에 이르는 아시아 지역에서 발견된다.[2] 동자개와 꼬치동자개, 눈동자개, 종어, 밀자개, 대농갱이 등을 포함하고 있다. 동자개류 중에서 대형 종은 식용으로 이용된다. 일부 종들은 관상용 어류이다.[2]
