레드디어
레드디어(영어: Red Deer)는 캐나다 앨버타주에 위치한 도시로 면적은 104.73km2, 높이는 855m, 인구는 100,418명(2016년 기준), 인구 밀도는 958.8명/km2이다.
도시 이름은 이 곳에 거주했던 원주민인 크리 족의 언어로 "엘크의 강"이라는 뜻을 가진 '와스카소 세페'(Waskasoo Seepee)에서 파생된 이름인데 영국 출신 상인들이 엘크를 말사슴(영어로 "레드 디어(붉은 사슴)")으로 착각한 데서 유래된 이름이다. 1894년 5월 31일에 마을이 형성되었으며 1901년 6월 12일에 시로 승격되었다. 1913년 3월 25일을 기해 도시 지위를 부여받았다.
캘거리, 에드먼턴에 이어 앨버타 주에서 3번째로 큰 도시로서 석유, 천연 가스, 곡물 산업의 중심지이다. 시내에는 도시의 이름을 딴 강인 레드디어강이 흐른다.
