포트맥머리
포트맥머리(영어: Fort McMurray)는 캐나다 서부 앨버타주에 있는 도시이다. 인구 72,363(2008).
앨버타 주의 동북부, 애서배스카 강 연안에 위치한다. 18세기 후반, 모피 교역소로 건설되었고, 19세기에 허드슨 만 회사의 소유가 되었다. 그 후 한동안 정체되어 있었으나, 20세기 이래 석유 산업이 일어나면서 급격히 발전하였다. 이 일대에 유사(油砂, 오일샌드)가 풍부하게 묻혀 있다는 사실은 오래전부터 알려져 있었으나, 본격적으로 개발된 것은 1960년대 이후이다. 1966년 2000명에 불과하던 인구가 갑자기 증가하여, 1980년 30000명을 넘어 시(city)로 승격되었다. 1995년, 인근 지역을 병합하여 광대한 지역을 관할하는 우드버펄로 지자체가 형성되면서 포트맥머리는 그 일부가 되어 시의 지위는 잃었으나 별도의 도시 지역을 형성하여 캐나다 북부에서 가장 인구가 밀집된 지역으로 손꼽힌다. 2000년대 들어 유가 상승으로 이 지역은 더욱 호황을 맞고 있다. 앨버타 주 북부의 거대한 오일샌드 매장지의 중심지로 석유 관련 산업이 발달하였다. 서남쪽으로 435km 떨어진 있는 에드먼턴과 포장된 도로로 연결되고, 동시에 캐나다 북부로 들어가는 도로가 통하는 교통의 요지이다. 애서배스카강과 그에 연결되는 매켄지강을 이용한 수상 교통도 이루어진다. 주변은 울창한 침엽수림과 많은 호수가 있는 곳이지만, 최근 개발로 환경 파괴 문제도 대두되고 있다.
