공해물질

공해물질(公害物質, 영어: pollutant,[1])이란 환경에 유입되어 공해를 유발하는 물질 또는 에너지이다. 자연적으로 형성(예: 광물이라든지 기름 등의 추출 화합물)되거나 인위적 물질(제조된 물질이나 생분해에서 기인한 부산물)일 수 있다. 인위적으로 만들어진 공해물질을 특히 novel entity[2]라고도 한다.
