산호(珊瑚)는 자포동물문 산호충강에 속하는 군체동물이다. 군체가 모여 산호초를 형성한다. 바다맨드라미아강 또는 팔방산호아강(八放珊瑚亞綱)에 속하는 빨간산호·연분홍산호·흰산호 등을 가리키는데, 넓은 뜻으로는 말미잘아강 또는 육방산호아강(六放珊瑚亞綱)에 속하는 석산호류·각산호류·토규류(菟葵類)와 히드로충류에 속하는 의산호류(擬珊瑚類) 등도 포함된다.
