zlib 라이선스는 zlib 소프트웨어 라이브러리를 배포할 수 있는 조항을 정의해놓은 퍼미시브 라이선스이다. 그 밖의 수많은 자유 소프트웨어 패키지에 의해 사용되기도 한다. Libpng 라이브러리는 zlib/libpng 라이선스로 병행하여 사용할 수 있는 비슷한 라이선스를 사용한다.
zlib 라이선스는 자유 소프트웨어 재단(FSF)에 의해 자유 소프트웨어 사용권으로,[2] 또 오픈 소스 이니셔티브(OSI)에 의해 오픈 소스 라이선스로 승인되었다.[3] GNU 일반 공중 사용 허가서와 호환된다.[2]
