English: Toor Dal rasam is a popular South Indian Soup made from cooked Toor Dal and varieties of fried spices viz, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, mustard. Onions, tomatoes, green chillies and tamarind pulp are added for flavor. Tempering curry leaves and mustard seeds in ghee before adding it to the rasam gives extremely hunger yielding aroma. Turmeric powder and chilli powder are the signature ingredients of the rasam. Toor Dal rasam is garnished using coriander leaves and popularly served with plain rice.
