English: The Tower Bridge is a bascule and suspension bridge located in the center of London that crosses the River Thames. Its name is taken from the Tower of London, located nearby and has become an iconic symbol of London. The bridge was built between 1886 and 1894 and has a length of 244 m (800 feet) and the height of the towers is 65 m (213 feet). The 61 m (200 feet) long central span is split into two equal bascules than can be raised 86 degrees to allow the transit of ships. Otherwise the bridge is open to the traffic and to the pedestrians.
Español: El Puente de la Torre es un puente basculante y colgante situado en el centro de Londres sobre el Támesis. Su nombre se adoptó de la Torre de Londres, situado en los alrededores, y se ha convertido en uno de los iconos de Londres. El punte se construyó entre 1886 y 1894, tiene una longitud de 244 m y una altura de 65 m. La sección central de 61 m está dividida en dos básculas idénticas que se pueden alzar 86 grados para permitir el tránsito de barcos de grandes dimensiones. Jeho střední část o délce 61 m je rozdělena do dvou stejných dílů, které lze zvednout až v úhlu 86 stupňů a umožnit tak průjezd velkých lodí. Jinak je most otevřený jak pro běžnou silniční dopravu, tak pro chodce.
