대구소방은 1909년 10월 31일 대구소방조로 출발해 1945년 10월 10일 대구소방서가 개서되었고, 1981년 7월 1일 대구광역시 소방본부로 승격되어 각종 화재와 재난, 사건사고로부터 시민의 생명과 재산을 보호하는 책임을 맡고 있습니다. The Daegu Fire Department began as a small fire company on October 31st 1909, and expanded as a Fire station on October 10th 1945. On July 1st 1981, the Daegu Metropolitan City Fire Department was established with the aim of preserving the lives and property of the citizen.

대구소방은 8개 소방서와 48개 119안전센터, 9개 구조대, 8개 구급대, 6개 지역대에 2,191명의 소방공무원과 의용소방 대원 1,738명으로 구성되어 있습니다. The Daegu Fire Service consists of 8 fire stations, 48 fire houses, 9 rescue teams, 8 EMS squads and 6 local fire houses with 2,191 firefighters including 1,723 volunteer firefighters.
