에스칼로니아과는 속씨식물의 과이다. 7개 속에 약 130종을 포함하고 있다. APG II 분류 체계에서 진정국화군 II 하위에 목으로 할당되지 않는 8개의 과 중 하나이다. 좀 더 최근의 연구는 에레모시네과와 트리벨레스과도 에스칼로니아과 내에서 나온 증거가 발견되고 있다. 속씨식물 계통 연구 그룹은 이 2개 과를 에스칼로니아과로 통합하고, 또한 에스칼로니아과목(Escalloniales)에 유일한 과로 할당한다.[2]
