존 멕퀘리(John Macquarrie, 1919년 6월 27일 - 2007년 5월 28일)는 스코틀랜드의 신학자, 철학자이며 성공회 사제였다. 스코틀랜드 장로교의 장로인 아버지의 아들로 렌프루에서 태어났다. 20세기에 뛰어난 조직신학자로 평가받는다. 그의 책 Principles of Christian Theology (1966)와 Jesus Christ in Modern Thought (1991)은 많이 알려진 작품이다. [1]

신학이란[편집]

신학이란 종교적 믿음에 참여와 반성을 통하여 분명하고 사용할 수 있는 일관된 언어를 가지고 이 믿음의 내용을 표현하려고 시도하는 학문이다.[2] 그의 정의는 계시 중심보다는 일반 종교 영역으로 신학의 연구의 범위를 확장했다. 신학을 믿음이라는 인간의주관적인 도구로 강조를 한다.[3]
