I am advocating the concept of Open Data to ensure that scientific data is protected against legal and other access restrictions. I have set up an Open Data mailing list hosted by SPARC (no longer active).

I am also joint creator of CML which would greatly enhance the chemistry on sites such as Wikipedia. It allows modern tools such as RSS, RDF, etc. to work directly with chemical content and has a range of Open Source tools for display such as Jmol

I have spoken at Wikimedia meetings (Wikimania 2014)
