게임 중독(-中毒, Video game addiction)이란 컴퓨터 게임 또는 비디오 게임의 과도한 사용으로 개인의 일상생활에 지장이 생기는 것을 말한다. 게임 중독은 충동적 게임 플레이, 사회적 고립, 감정기복, 상상력 능력의 감소, 게임 내 성취에 대한 집중, 게임을 제외한 활동의 배제 등의 형태로 나타날 수 있다. 이를 방지하는 시스템인 피로도가 있다. ^[1]^[2]^[3] 2013년 5월, 게임 중독은 《정신질환 진단 및 통계 편람》에 〈인터넷 게임 장애〉("Internet Gaming Disorder")라는 제목으로 등재되었으며, 현재 ‘추가 연구 필요’(Further Study)로 분류된다.
