후천년설

후천년설(postmillennialism)이란 기독교 신학가운데 종말론에서 다루는 분야이다. 요한 계시록 20장의 해석을 후천년주의로 해석한다. 즉 그 본문을 천년왕국 후에 예수 그리스도가 다시 재림한다고 본다. 후천년설은  전천년설과는 대조적으로 다르며 무천년설과도 다소 다르다. 교회의 설립 혹은 로마 제국 국교회를 통해 천년왕국이 이미 시작되었다 보고, 교회의 전성기 및 세계 평화가 완전히 이루어졌을 때 예수의 재림이 있을 것이라고 믿는다.
