햇살뱀속(Xenopeltis)은 뱀목에 속하는 파충류 뱀 분류군이다.^[2] 햇살뱀과(Xenopeltidae)의 유일속으로 동남아시아에서 발견된다. 무지개 빛깔의 뱀비늘로 유명하다. 현재, 2종이 알려져 있으며 아종은 없다.^[3] DNA 연구 결과에 의하면, 햇살뱀류는 멕시코비단구렁이과, 비단뱀과와 밀접한 관련이 있다.

분포[편집]

동남아시아의 안다만 제도와 니코바르 제도부터 미얀마 동부 지역을 거쳐, 중국 남부와 태국, 라오스, 캄보디아, 베트남, 말레이 반도, 동인도의 술라웨시섬 그리고 필리핀에서 발견된다.^[1]
