흰목물까마귀
흰목물까마귀 또는 흰가슴물까마귀(Cinclus cinclus)는 유럽, 중동, 중앙아시아, 인도 아대륙에서 발견되는 수생 참새목 조류이다. 이 종은 주로 색깔 차이, 특히 가슴띠의 차이를 기준으로 여러 아종으로 나뉜다.
분류 및 계통
[편집]흰목물까마귀는 1758년 스웨덴의 자연학자 칼 린네가 그의 저서 『자연의 체계』(Systema Naturae) 제10판에 이명법(binary name)으로 Sturnus cinclus라는 학명을 처음 기재했다. 현재의 속명인 Cinclus는 1797년 독일의 자연학자 모리츠 발타자르 보르크하우젠이 도입했다.[1] cinclus라는 학명은 고대 그리스어 kinklos에서 유래되었으며, 물가에 서식하는 작고 꼬리를 흔드는 새를 묘사하는 데 사용되었다.[2] 현재 이 속에 속하는 5종 중에서 분자 유전학 연구에 따르면 흰목물까마귀는 다른 유라시아 종인 갈색물떼새(Cinclus pallasii)와 가장 가까운 친척 관계인 것으로 나타났다.[3]
