인도-그리스 왕국(그리스어: Ελληνοϊνδικό Βασίλειο) 또는 야바나 왕국(산스크리트어: यवन राज्य)은 오늘날의 파키스탄, 아프가니스탄, 북인도 서부에 존속하였던 헬레니즘 시대의 그리스계 인도 왕국들을 말한다.[1][2][3][4][5][6] 야바나는 고대 인도에서 그리스인들을 지칭하던 단어이다.
역사[편집]
그리스-박트리아 왕국의 왕인 드미트리우스가 인도로 침입하면서 북인도의 북서부 지역에서 여러 인도-그리스 왕국들이 등장하였으며, 탁실라, 사갈라를 포함한 여러 도시들을 통치하였다.
인도-그리스 왕들은 인도 지역에 그리스 문화를 전파하며 헬레니즘 문화의 일종인 인도-그리스 문화를 형성하였으며, 이들의 문화는 불상 등의 불교 예술에 영향을 미쳤다. 서기 10년 인도-그리스 왕국은 스키타이의 침입으로 사라졌으며 그 후 이들의 영토에 파르티아와 쿠샨 제국이 들어섰다.
