참새목 긴꼬리딱새과(Monarchidae)에 속하는 조류의 총칭이다.[1] 긴꼬리딱새과의 새들은 긴 꼬리를 지닌 작은 식충성 명금류이다. 사하라 이남 아프리카, 동남아시아, 오스트랄라시아 그리고 수많은 태평양 제도의 숲과 산림 지대에서 발견된다.
