English: Stream capture of Tong-ri Area, Taebaek and Samcheok City, South Korea The water originating from Gusari on the northern side of Baekbyeon Mountain, did not flow to Osipcheon of Samcheok, but instead flowed to Cheoram stream in Tong-ri Area and Hwangji stream which is the upper part of Nakdong River. Unlike the stable Cheoram stream relatively, Stream erosion activity of upper Osip stream was active due to steep stream slope, so Stream capture occurs as Osip stream meets Cheoram stream and Osip stream captures drainage basin of Cheoram stream. As a result, the Tong-ri area, where water flowed in the past, became a Wind gap. The erosion activity of upper Osip stream continues today, and Mi-In Waterfalls is the forefront of stream erosion.
