벌레잡이통풀속(Nepenthes)은 석죽목에 속하는 열대 식충식물 속의 하나이다. 벌레잡이통풀과(Nepenthaceae)의 유일속이다. 이 속은 약 130여 종을 포함하고 있으며, 수많은 자연 잡종과 다수의 개량종으로 이루어져 있다. 대부분이 덩굴 식물이며 중국 남부와 인도네시아, 말레이시아, 필리핀, 그리고 서쪽으로는 마다가스카르(2종), 세이셸(1종), 남쪽으로는 오스트레일리아(3종)와 누벨칼레도니(1종), 북쪽으로는 인도(1종)와 스리랑카(1종)의 구세계의 열대 지방에 분포한다. 가장 많은 종이 자생하는 곳은 보르네오 섬과 수마트라 섬이다.
