돌담배과 또는 제스네리아과는 꿀풀목의 과이다.
분포 [편집]
주로 양 반구의 열대에 약 100속 1,500종이 있으며 한국에서는 재배종이 있다.
특징 [편집]
대부분 초본이지만 관목이나 교목인 경우도 있다. 잎은 마주나거나 어긋나며 턱잎은 없다. 꽃은 양성화, 대개 좌우상칭이며 때로 거의 방사상칭이다. 꽃받침은 대개 통 모양, 씨방에서 떨어져 있거나 붙어 있으며, 갈래는 꽃눈 속에서 맞닿아 있거나 간혹 기와 모양으로 배열한다. 꽃잎은 때로 약간 입술 모양, 또는 거의 같고, 가장자리는 대개 비스듬하며, 갈래는 꽃눈 속에서 기와 모양으로 배열하며 수술은 2개 또는 4개, 때로 5개, 꽃밥은 2실, 세로로 갈라진다. 화반은 고리 모양이고 씨방은 상위 또는 하위이다. 열매는 삭과이며 드물게 장과이고 씨는 대체로 소형이다.
