덤불개(Bush dog)는 중남미에서 발견되는 개과 동물이다.^[1]^[2] 넓은 분포 지역에도 불구하고, 수리남과 가이아나, 페루를 제외한 다습한 지역에서는 아주 드물게 발견된다.^[2]^[3] 피터 빌헬름 룬드(Peter Wilhelm Lund)가 브라질의 동굴에서 발견한 화석을 통해 처음 기술했으며, 처음에는 멸종된 종으로 간주했다.^[3]

덤불개는 덤불개속에 속하는 동물들 중 유일하게 현존하는 종이며,^[1] 유전학 분석 결과에 의하면 중앙아메리카에서 발견되는 갈기늑대,^[4] 혹은 리카온일 수도 있다.^[5] 국제 자연 보전 연맹(IUCN)이 취약근접종(NT, Near Threatened Species)으로 분류하고 있다.
