댄 라인슈타인(영어: Dan Reinstein)은 영국 출신의 안과 의사, 생명공학기술자이다.[1] 댄 라인슈타인은 영국미국, 캐나다 3개국의 안과 전문의 자격을 보유하고 있으며, 미국 콜롬비아 의과대학과 파리 캥즈-뱅 국립병원의 교수이자 세계 50여개의 안과학 심포지움 심사위원으로 활동하고 있다.[2] 현재 미국캐나다의 Reinstein Institute와 영국의 London Vision Clinic을 운영하고 있으며, 독일의 ASA LASEK Organisation 연구에 참여하고 있다.

학창 시절[편집]

1981년부터 영국 캠브리지 의과대학에 입학하여 1992년까지 영국, 미국, 캐나다의 안과학 전문의 자격증을 모두 취득하였다.

연구 개발[편집]

댄 라인슈타인은 시력교정 기술의 권위자로 세계에서 가장 정밀한 각막 측정기인 “Artemis Scanner” 원형을 개발하였고, 독일 칼 자이스(Carl Zeiss)의 시력교정 기기인 MEL80 개발팀으로도 참여하였다. 라식(LASIK) 수술로 인한 굴절 오류를 안전하게 교정할 수 있는 신 알고리즘을 개발하는 등 안공학 기술 전문가로 활동하며 현재까지 수십여개의 미국/유럽/세계 특허를 보유 중이다.

의학계 활동[편집]

1994년부터 세계 50여개의 안과학 심포지움에서 심사위원으로 활동하고 있으며, 현재 독일 물리학 박사 에카르트 슈뢰더(Eckhard Schroeder), 독일 의학 박사 스벤 리(Sven Lee), 남아프리카 공화국 의학 박사 셀릭 퍼시 아모일즈(Selig Percy Amoils)와 시력교정 기술관련 공동 연구를 진행 중이다.[3]
